Tom Petch is a filmmaker and screenwriter whose work explores human behaviour, conflict and the choices people make under extraordinary circumstances.
Following his award-winning directorial debut, The Patrol, Tom founded Dark Wave Film in 2018.
Dark Wave develops and produces independent, character-driven films, with a focus on distinctive storytelling, complex individuals and thought-provoking subjects.
The Patrol
Written and directed by Tom Petch, The Patrol explores the experiences of British soldiers serving in Afghanistan, examining the tensions between military objectives and the realities faced by those on the ground.
The film won Best UK Feature at the 2013 Raindance Film Festival.
Commercial Production
Alongside his independent filmmaking, Tom has extensive experience in commercial film production, working with international brands, agencies and high-profile talent.
He founded Salt Film in 2000, building a production company specialising in complex, high-end shoots and international production.
His work combines creative storytelling with practical production expertise, bringing together experienced crews and the resources required to deliver ambitious projects.
